Chattanooga Patriots Soccer Season

This spring Ethan and I are playing soccer for the Chattanooga Patriots.  (The Patriots are a home school soccer team in Chattanooga)  Last fall was the first time I had played soccer for the Patriots, but Ethan and Nic had played middle school soccer for them.

In the fall we came in second place in a tournament we were in and I thought that was great, but this season has been even better!  Our record is 10 - 1 - 2.  Our only loss was on a rainy, muddy night and the other team had a late goal for the win.  Our two ties were hard fought 0-0 ties.

We play local public and private high schools.  We also play home school teams from Knoxville, Nashville, and Atlanta.  Most teams don't take us seriously until we beat them then they are like, "those kids can play!".

Ethan and I get lots of playing time.  Ethan is the back up goal keeper and hasn't been scored on all year and I play defense and outside midfield.  Ethan has scored once and I have scored twice, including the game winner Monday night.

Our family are our biggest fans.  They come to all the games and I can hear them cheering us on from the field.  Eli and Nicholas love coming to our games.

One day before a game Eli was looking through his closet for something to wear and he found a #18 jersey of his.  We had forgotten he had that.  The coolest thing is I am number 18.  He was so excited!

We have 9 games left.  We have a chance to finish the season with only one loss.  That would be great.  We have our biggest game of the season coming up when we play Ooltewah High School. (The high school that is 2 miles from our house and some of our friends from church and also our neighbors go there.  AND, one of our Patriot players from last year's team plays for them now.)  It will be a lot of fun.  I can't wait!

Go Patriots!

Our Weekend

This weekend was a "work" weekend.  Some weekends are for work and some weekends are for play.  Friday and Saturday we worked and today (Sunday) we rested.  We got a lot done around our house and I must say it looks and feels good.

Mom and I sprayed our milk can black.  It was formerly a dark green to match the dark green shutters of our home in Knoxville.  We all decided we like the black better.

Ethan dug up one dead bush.  Not sure what happened to it but all our other plants are fine.

Dad pressure washed our back porch (and himself).

Dad, Mom, Ethan, Nic, Eli, and myself did the mulch.  For 2 days we were spreading mulch all across the front and down the side of our house.  I wish I would have taken a before and after picture, or some pictures of Nic and Eli, but...I was working!!

Clare Grace supervised.

For dinner mom made this

Chicken braid or something.  She takes pictures of food for her blog and I use them.
And dessert, this

Turtle Cake.

On Sunday we rested.  After church we like to read the paper.  We get 5 Sunday papers delivered so that Mom can have 5 sets of the coupons.  This works out great because we can each have our own paper.

*I apologize that there are no pictures of Mom or Eli in this post.  Mom hides from the camera and Eli, well, I will get him next time!!!

What did you do with your weekend?

Growing Up So Fast

Clare is growing up so fast!  She is already 11 months old and mom is planning her first birthday party!  It seems just like yesterday that we went to the hospital to wait for her to be born.  She is crawling all over the place getting into everything.  She is also talking a little.  She is adorable!

Last night mom was making Clare laugh so hard.  I was upstairs and I could hear her laughing.

I love Clare so much and I hope she doesn't grow up too fast.  I thank God for giving her to us each day.

Easter

Our morning started with these.

Yes, those are fish!  Mom and Dad put fish in our Easter baskets!  We love them!

Olivia and Clare were singing while we got ready for church.

At church we had the best Easter service ever.  The Pastor built this cross while he taught.  It was amazing and such a powerful reminder of what Christ did when He gave up His life for me.

Mom has to have a ton of pictures on holidays so here we go...

Good friends!

Olivia and her tree.

Get ready...

Get set...

GO!

Good night!!
