Word From The Word

Know this, my beloved brothers, let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness that God requires.  Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.  James 1:19-21

Growing...Growing...Gone!

We are growing all kinds of stuff around our house.  Olivia is in charge of flowers and she has been doing a great job.

This is her "flower garden".  It sits near our front door.  Olivia picked out the flowers at the nursery and planted them in these pots.  One of the pots she even painted.  See her name?  She is very careful to pick off dead blooms and to water them every morning when she gets up.

She worked very hard painting this pot.

She is also growing things on the deck.

She didn't mind at all that I was posting about her flowers!

We are growing some strawberries and green peppers and tomatoes too.  We've already eaten some tomatoes and green peppers and they are really good.

Ethan and Nic have a small garden where they are growing banana peppers and jalapeno peppers.  Ethan and Nic and Eli and I are also in the process of putting in a bigger garden.  Our plans are for cucumbers, beans, more tomatoes, onions, lettuce, herbs and anything else we can get our hands on.  We are a little late getting it in but Dad was testing the soil and trying to get it ready for us to plant.

I hope in the coming months to be posting pictures of our harvest~!

Summer Fun

We have already started our summer fun for 2012.  Even though there are several weeks until the official start of summer the temps are in the 90s and the fun has begun!!

We've been picnicking, and going to the fountains, cardboard sledding and eating tons of ice cream!

In fact, we are headed to the pool after I finish this post.  This summer we have plans to go to soccer camp,  and help at VBS, take a trip to Virginia, and in September head to the beach.  This is going to be a GREAT summer!

Here are some pictures from our latest adventures.

Last Friday night's picnic...fried chicken, potato salad, baked beans and watermelon!

Clare LOVES watermelon!

The night ended with a storm.  We loved it!

This is right next to where we played.

Our cardboard hill!

Breaking down the boxes.

Look at Mrs. Rogers' shirt!  Unlike my mother, she was not afraid to go down on her stomach.

Before living in Chattanooga I had never heard of cardboard sledding but boy is it fun!  The further south we move the more hillbilly fun we find!  You may not be able to tell but the hill we were on is steep!...it was a blast!  We took a picnic downtown and spent several hours there.  Everyone enjoyed the fun, even Clare.

After sliding down the hill we went out for ice cream and then headed over to the park to play soccer.

Proud sponsors of our summer fun!

I love taking a soccer ball to the park in downtown Chattanooga.  Every time we go we always have people asking us if they can play too.  Yesterday we had 12+ people playing at one time.  It was GREAT!
I love spending time with my family and friends.  I love warm (hot) weather, picnics, and pool days, and soccer and ice cream and...

I am looking forward to this summer.  It is going to be the best one yet!

Off to the pool!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mother's Day

Somehow each year Mother's Day always sneaks up on me.  It seems like each year I am unprepared.  Each year I say,"next year I will do better".  Well.....this year I am saying that again.  My Mom says what we did was great and she loved all of it, but I think she deserved more.  I am already planning for next year so Mom, you just wait until next year it will be The Greatest Mother's Day ever!

This year we all made Mom cards or wrote her letters, bought her earrings, and Ethan and I made her a pie she really loved.

The pies were really good.  I'm happy we made them.

I felt bad because Mom made lunch on Mother's Day.  I tried to help her as much as I could.  Ethan made chicken salad with Mom and it was delicious!

Before we ate lunch Dad read Proverbs 31:10-31 and we pointed out some of the things a godly woman does and pointed out the similarities with Mom.

My Mom is a Wonderful Mom!  I love her so much!  She is a great teacher and a great parent. She is kind and understanding. She is loving AND she is and expert cook!!!   I don't know what I would do without her!
I love you Mom

Clare Grace is ONE!

On May 4th, Clare Grace Moran had her first birthday!  Mom threw her a wonderful little party.  We had some of our friends over and Mamaw and Papaw came down from Virginia. The party was Minnie Mouse themed.  It was adorable!  Clare couldn't had been in a more perfect mood at her party.  She was all smiles and was talking a ton.  She is a wonderful sister.

Mom made some cute decorations.

We found Clare the perfect gift to go with her party.

Mom made a ''sweet" cake.  (Check her blog for the recipe.)

Clare devoured her birthday cupcake!

Clare was adorable while opening her presents.

I am so thankful for Clare.  I am also thankful that God gave her a healthy, problem free first year.  I hope Clare has a wonderful second year of life.  I love you Clare!
